Visiting New York Again After Five Years

The last time I was in New York, somehow it was also in winter. It’s funny actually, how one of the sweet ladies we [me and my sisters] met on this trip teasingly apologized for the cold weather; “I hope the city is not too cold for you” she said jokingly. We could only help but laugh, because of course, anything a few single digits under zero was more or less spring in Toronto.

The grey skies and slightly quiet atmosphere in New York did make it simple to do a few other things though. We comfortably stayed up until 1 am eating tacos and explored museums and art galleries after-hours free of charge as the city was generally not as busy as we are used to.

Probably the most enjoyable surprise was meeting friends near Times Square in a crowded pizza shop and deciding spontaneously to go on a food tour in Jackson Heights, Queens. Featured in this blog post are some of those memories captured via my usual photography style.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
